Forrest Jinks has over 15 years of real estate experience throughout the Western United States, with a primary focus on Northern California over the past several years. Specializing in real estate as an “alternative investment”, Forrest has served as the lead investor in over 100 million dollars of real estate transactions, ranging from single-family homes to large retail centers. Projects include retail development and redevelopment, office repositioning, in-fill residential development, bulk residential transactions, apartment development and repositioning, and various types of single-family exchanges. Prior to founding Altus, Forrest was President of Expowth, Inc., a three-division company focused on real estate development, distressed property acquisition, and property preservation. Forrest’s core competencies lie in investment identification, unleashing hidden value, financial modeling and instruments, investor relations, partner and supplier relations, and project management. He received his B.S. from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and holds a California Real Estate Broker’s License.

Whether serving as the Business Manager of a 500 million dollar retail brokerage business at E*Trade Financial, or determining project interdependencies and resolving critical path conflicts at Hewlett Packard Company, Kristy’s particular strength lies in aligning the goals of a business with the details of service and solutions delivery. After initiating her post graduate career at Staples, Inc. as a Senior Financial Analyst, Kristy’s career propelled at accelerated rates. Kristy’s specific skills lie in the areas of business planning and execution, financial modeling and analysis, cash flow projections, compliance and accounting regulation, and business improvement. She has a B.S. from the University of California, Davis and an M.B.A. from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
Born and raised in Sonoma County, Ali joined Altus Equity Group in 2013, and quickly rose to the position of Project Manager. With a passion for architecture and design, she has had the primary responsibility for all phases of renovation in diverse ventures, ranging from single‐ family residences to over 700 units of multifamily complexes. An attention to detail, an artistic view, and a hands‐on approach make Ali indispensable with the complexities of asset/property management and corporate due diligence. Her background at Gonzaga University, as well as her training with the CAM – Certified Apartment Manager program are significant factors in why Ali is a key figure in the client’s Altus experience.
Raised, educated and spending the majority of his career in the State of Ohio, Michael Adler relocated to Sonoma County in 2005. For more than four decades, Michael has held countless roles, from entrepreneur, businessman, investor, philanthropist, to political activist. As a businessman and entrepreneur, Michael served as a primary shareholder and Chief Executive Officer of two public companies and half a dozen private enterprises, including CEO of the largest franchising photo retailer in North America (450 locations).
Michael’s keen sense of strategy coupled with creative problem solving skills and strong listening ability, has led many to coin him a “resourceful deal maker” and “financial engineer”. He loves people and win-win relationships. Since moving to Santa Rosa eight years ago, Michael has been an active investor and mentor to early stage companies and serves as a Board Member for the North Bay Angels, an early stage Angel Investment Association based in Sonoma County. He received his B.S. and J.D. degrees at Ohio State University.
Mark Nelson joined Altus Equity in August of 2013 after spending 25 years starting, building, re-purposing and investing in businesses in the staffing, workforce management, financial services, real estate and technology industries. Prior to the 2009 founding of The Mark Nelson Group, an entrepreneurial capital, advisory and consulting firm, Mark served twenty plus years at the Nelson Family of Companies (NFC), Northern California’s premiere workforce management and talent acquisition company. Named President and Chief Operating Officer in 1995, NFC grew revenue from $56 million to nearly $400 million by the end of 2007, while offering a host of new products and services in the human capital space.
Mark has served as a trusted adviser to companies like Google, Sony Computer Entertainment, Clorox, Bank of America, Cisco Systems, Trinchero Family Estates, Redwood Credit Union, and countless others. Mark’s core competencies lie in the areas of comprehensive business and market strategy, client development and strategy, building intimate customer relationships, hiring and retention of top talent, service delivery, oral and written communication, and fiscal analysis and management. He has a B.S. from the University of San Francisco and is a Certified Public Accountant.
